Mick Kolassa 1972-1974 and Molli Kolassa 1974-1975

The following biography was updated in November 2006.

Mick and Molli met at the 14th Finance Section when Mick was in the Quality Edit section and Molli was (and still is) in Control. Mick and Molli were married after Mick's discharge and returned to Furth with Mick as Molli's dependent. Mick got a job in the disbursing section as a voucher examiner. He thought it was great that everyone that he had called "Sir" for 2 years was now calling him "Mister".  Mick and Molli left Germany in 1975 when they found out Molli was pregnant.  They moved to Michigan.  Mick was getting disability under the Disabled Vietnam-Era Veterans Act for a non-functional thumb which was a result of a dramatic brawl in the Tucher Tent at the Spring Beerfest in 1973.  Mick earned his B.A. and MBA in the next few years. He worked for Upjohn Company upon graduation.  After a few years he returned to school and earned a Ph.D in Pharmaceutical  Marketing.  He was an Associate Professor in the School of Pharmacy at the University of Mississippi and is now CEO of Medical Marketing Economics, a firm that consults with pharmaceutical companies. Molli is getting ready to be back into horses as we continue to developo our 30 acres in Oxford, Mississippi.  She is active in community groups dealing with issues of domestic violence and child abuse.   They have 3 children, Alex, 30, Megan, 26 and Kassi, 24 and two wonderful grandchildren.

Roger Dion 1971-1973

The following biography was provided in August, 2000.

Following my 23 months of service, I returned to Maine and have worked for Bath Iron Works shipbuilding yard for over 25 years. Job descriptions have changed but I am now a Project Manager working on U.S. Navy ship modernization and maintenance around the world. The homeports that I support include San Diego, CA, Pearl Harbor, HI and Yokosuka, Japan and travel to these sites has allowed me to connect with some former 14th Finance fighters. Wendy Stanley and I are sharing life, love and a large mortgage on a 150 year old New England home in center Bath, ME, where Wendy operates her own design/architect business. We both enjoy sailing, travel and road bowling. Jeff "Stony" Little also returned to Bath in 1973 and he is now the Chief Engineer on the M/V ATLANTIS, a research vessel out of Woods Hole, MA, but it spends most of her sea time in the Pacific, off of California and Mexico. He spends his time off rebuilding old trucks and playing expensive guitars (LOUD).

During my schooling I was employed by Sears Roebuck in the auditing department. I left Sears in 1978 to work for Hughes Aircraft Company in Fullerton, California as a Cost/Price Analyst. In 1988 General Motors bought Hughes Aircraft. In December 1997 Raytheon Company bought Hughes Aircraft from General Motors. I am married (re-married) to Karen Kennedy (formerly from Austin, Minnesota) and we have 3 children Jason Kennedy, Kristen Kernohan and Karin (Kernohan) Stouffer. We also have two granddaughters, Savanna and Skylar Stouffer. Karen and I retired in March 2004. In May 2004 we left California on a 6 month long trip in our RV to find our retirement home. After visiting 41 states and driving 18,000 miles we returned to California in December 2004. We did find our retirement home in Maryville, TN. We moved in August 2005 and are enjoying Eastern Tennessee thoroughly.

Wayne Marsh 1971-1972

The following biography was provided in August, 2000.

As Wayne reminded us he was the "crazy" one who volunteered for Vietnam. Once he was back in the states he was stationed at Ft. Rucker, Alabama where he met his wife Jeanie.  Jeanie was Miss Coffee Springs and a cheerleader at the High School.  Wayne was discharged in 1975 but reenlisted and was finally discharged in 1978.  He attended college and graduated from Troy State in 1982 with a B.S.  He majored in Criminal Justice and minored in Psychology.  He worked as a counselor for the Alabama Department of Corrections until 1984.  He then accepted an active duty position as Personnel Senior Seargent for the Alabama Army National Guard.  He retired in 1998 and went back to Troy State University to pursue a Masters in Social Sciences.  He put that pursuit on hold for a while and is currently a City Carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Dothan, Alabama (seems like he loves government work). Wayne and Jeanie have a son, Clifton, 26 who is married and has a 2 year old daughter.  They also have a 19 year old daughter who is pursuing a degree in Pre-Professional Biology.
